What Number Does EDD Paid Family Leave Call From?

EDD identifies its PFL return-call number
EDD says a call from its Paid Family Leave office will display “Public Service PFL Office 1-877-238-4373” on caller ID. Save the number if that helps you recognize the call, but remember that the way a label appears can vary by phone and carrier.
The number is the official statewide English PFL line. If you requested or are expecting a PFL return call, keep your phone nearby and be ready to answer claim questions directly with EDD.
What to do while waiting for the call
- Keep your phone charged, audible, and able to receive calls.
- Review any EDD notice or claim question you need to discuss.
- Have your Claim ID and SSN or EDD Client Number available for the EDD conversation.
- Do not give ConnectEDD your Social Security number, password, claim documents, or verification codes.
Callback timing can vary. Neither the published caller ID nor a submitted callback request guarantees when EDD will call.
Handle claim details only with EDD
ConnectEDD may request a callback to the number you authorized, but it does not stay on the return call, answer identity questions, or access your claim. When the PFL office calls, the conversation is between you and EDD.
If a caller unexpectedly asks for payment, a password, or a one-time verification code, end the call and contact EDD using a number published on the official EDD website. Caller ID is useful context, but it should not be your only security check.

Check whether EDD left instructions, review your claim information in SDI Online, and use the official PFL contact choices for your situation. Do not assume an unknown caller will automatically try again at a particular time.
