The official California PFL phone number
For most Paid Family Leave claimants, EDD lists 1-877-238-4373 as its statewide toll-free number in English and for all other languages. For free interpreter services, EDD says callers using that line can press 3. The Spanish line is 1-877-379-3819, TTY is 1-800-445-1312, and California Relay users can call 711 and provide 1-877-238-4373.
EDD says State Disability Insurance staff are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time, Monday through Friday, except state holidays. Availability does not mean a representative will answer immediately.
What the PFL phone service covers
EDD describes its PFL automated phone service as a way to get information, contact a live representative, and get technical help with myEDD or SDI Online. The right option depends on whether you need general information, help with an existing claim, or online-account support.
California state government employees have a separate PFL number: 1-877-945-4747. EDD also publishes a separate line for employers and licensed health professionals; it says that line cannot access personal claimant information.
Online alternatives to calling
EDD says claimants can view PFL claim status, payment history, and uploaded documents through SDI Online. For a question about a PFL claim, EDD also directs claimants to Ask EDD and provides a Paid Family Leave inquiry path.
Use the official EDD source links on this page before calling because phone numbers, hours, and menu options can change.
Help with repeated calling
Want ConnectEDD to handle the redialing?
ConnectEDD handles repeated calling and requests a California PFL callback to your authorized phone number when the option is available. Callback availability and timing can vary.
You may call EDD yourself for free. ConnectEDD is a paid convenience for the repeated-calling portion and does not represent you or access your claim.
