Follow the current prompts, then request an agent

EDD says the PFL phone system presents different options based on your choices at the start. Select your language, listen carefully, and choose the option that best matches your question.

After choosing the initial options and listening to the recordings, EDD says you can say “agent” or press 0 to reach a representative. Because the menu can change, this is more reliable than copying a long sequence from an old forum post.

Language choices at the beginning

  • For English, call 1-877-238-4373 and press 1 or wait for English.
  • For Spanish, call 1-877-379-3819 and say “Spanish” or press 2.
  • For another language, call 1-877-238-4373 and say or press 3 to ask an agent for a free interpreter.

TTY users can call 1-800-445-1312. California Relay users can call 711 and provide 1-877-238-4373 to the operator.

If your question is about online access

EDD’s SDI Online help page currently directs PFL callers to select their language, then option 2, then option 4 for Online Help. Use that path for myEDD or SDI Online technical issues rather than a claim decision.

If you can sign in, SDI Online may already show the claim status, payment history, and available document-upload choices you need.

Start with the right department

The PFL menu cannot resolve every EDD program. Disability Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, payroll taxes, and tax-form questions have separate numbers.

If you are uncertain, review whether your question belongs with PFL or Disability Insurance before calling.
